How to connect a cash drawer to a computer?
A cash drawer does not connect directly to a computer via USB. It connects through your receipt printer using an RJ11 or RJ12 cable. Steps: (1) Plug the RJ11 cable from the cash drawer into the printer's cash drawer port. (2) Install your receipt printer driver on the computer. (3) In your POS software, enable the "open cash drawer" command on each sale. The computer sends a signal to the printer, which then triggers the drawer to open automatically.
How to connect an Xprinter and cash drawer to a computer?
To connect an Xprinter and cash drawer to your computer: (1) Connect the Xprinter to your computer via USB or LAN cable. (2) Install the Xprinter driver from the official Xprinter website. (3) Plug the cash drawer's RJ11 cable into the dedicated cash drawer port on the back of the Xprinter. (4) In your POS software settings, configure the printer and enable automatic cash drawer opening. Both the Xprinter receipt printer (Rs. 13,000) and this cash drawer are available together from POSSystem.lk.
How to open a cash drawer manually?
If the receipt printer is offline or there is a power issue, you can open the cash drawer manually using the key that comes included in the box. Insert the key into the lock on the front face of the drawer, turn it clockwise, and the drawer will release and spring open. Always keep the spare key in a secure place accessible only to authorised staff.
Does the cash drawer have a lock?
Yes. This cash drawer includes a key lock on the front panel. When locked, the drawer cannot be opened manually or electronically, providing security when the counter is unattended.
